We are now proceeding our introductions of Pingtung (Taiwan), and it will last for at least one more week. We’ll have several hand-made works of the kids introducing Pingtung’s history, weather, industry, and so on. After we finish it, we’ll send the works to both of you; so that you can post them on the school bulletin or any other way you like to show them. This is what we are working on now.

As for the topic of communication and interaction in the future, we have an idea that maybe we could plan some tours of our own hometown. Because Rick mentioned that they are working on Indian history now, we are so curious about that and it would be great if we can have some planned routes when we visit there one day.

Halloween is in the air!!! To celebrate this special holiday, we're going to hold several activities that are related to the event on the following Wednesday-10/28. We'll video-tape the whole processing and upload it to the blog so that our shcool sister, Georgetown elementary can have a look and also share their experience about Halloween. Hoping through this cultural interchange, we can know more about each other and widen teachers and students' eye view at the same time.

三、邀請姐妺校校長及伙伴加入此blog,讓對方也能來此blog留言互動,本站所po的內容需簡單翻成英文。
翻英文工作分工:
(1)戴綺、孟萱:翻萬聖節活動、聯絡姐妺校長(treagan@hudsonville.k12.mi.us

  1. Good morning, Chia-pin Chen,

A culture introduction is a great way to begin. We hope to post Thursday or Friday. I am off to a conference today and will not be at school. Tomorrow, I am taking my class to a field trip to a place called the Forks of the Wabash. We are studying Native Americans and life in Indiana in the 1700''s. The remainder of the week is normal so we plan to post our introductions on NiceNet. I like your ideas of sharing pictures, too. We will put some together.
I look forward to knowing more about you and your class. Have you been in GVC before? Who were your partners?
    Enjoy your day,

    Rick 20091013

    Good evening, Anne and Chia-pen,

Thank you for the confidence, but please know i am very much a team player and realize that we each will bring a variety of specialties to our project. My experience with our team''s finish last year was incredible. It was a true team effort with everyone working together, exchanging ideas, setting goals, and getting maximum effort from our students.

My students and I have been gone all day on a field trip studying Native Americans of northern Indiana. We have been working on our introductory letters and hope to post them tomorrow. I will post about myself as well and share some of the tech tools we have to offer.

My kids have also been thinking about possible themes for our site. What have you and your students been thinking about?
    More soon,

    Rick 20091015

    Dear GVC Participants,

Once again, welcome to the 2009/10 GVC Website Design Program. I’m pleased to report we have formed 9 Primary Teams and 15 Secondary Teams. We have participants this year from 23 countries including participation for the first time from Czech Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Paraguay, Hong Kong and Ghana.

As of today, we can say that everyone has been assigned a team for the 2009-2010 GVC contest. However, we still need just a few people to sign into Nicenet so teams can start communicating.

With reference to the Global Virtual Classroom website, www.virtualclassroom.org, it is available for your use. As I noted in my previous email, the site was attacked by hackers. We have cleaned the site and increased security to prevent further such attacks. Once again, our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that this unfortunate situation may have caused you. The website, the new blogs on the site, the resources on the site, and the nicenet capability should be very helpful to you as you begin your learning journey this year!

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions you may have. I’m here to help!

What do you think?

Anyway, this is what we can think of now, what’s on your mind?

    Best Regards,
